Abiding in the Lord Jesus by Pastor (Mrs) Abiola Adegbesan

Abiding in the Lord Jesus by Pastor (Mrs) Abiola Adegbesan

John 15:1-4

To abide means to remain with someone or something all time, all day.

Abiding in God is being in the presence in God always; being in a steady relationship with God.

Abiding in God is not just coming to church on Sunday; it is a steady relationship with God.

Daniel 2:22 - He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what [is] in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.(KJV)

DON'T LIMIT GOD BY PASTOR SOBEREKON

DON'T LIMIT GOD BY PASTOR SOBEREKON

Genesis 18:14 - Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.(KJV)

Prior to the above verse, we will see the reason from the presiding verses.

Genesis 18:11-13 - Now Abraham and Sarah [were] old [and] well stricken in age; [and] it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?(KJV)

Any voice that says you shall not make, let that voice be silenced forever, in Jesus name, amen.

God can do everything.

Message Title: The Power of Primitive Faith

Message Title: The Power of Primitive Faith
-
Ministering: Dr. D. K. Olukoya
Daniel 3:14-18 demonstrates the power of primitive faith. Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego dared the king.
The men of old moved in a realm where we are struggling to understand.
Throwing in the fire became their breakthrough.
Four miracles occurred because of their primitive faith.
1. The people that threw them in the fire died.
2. They gained their freedom - the
3. They saw, prayed and danced with the King of kings.
4. They were promoted.
Matthew 17:20
We need to change our attitude to prayers - no sit-down-look attitude.
Jesus aggressively confronted demons, yet we Christians are afraid of demons.
Jesus resisted temptation to the point of exhaustion, but we yield easily.
Jesus blasted money changers and threw their tables away, but we allow negative to thrive around us.
Jesus insisted that mountains must move; however, we believe in what will be, will be.
Those who are moving with God have grown beyond tithe, and God is blessing them.
People of primitive faith don't mind giving everything to God not just tithe or first fruits.
Jesus insisted that faith must be risky but we want to see before we believe.
Jesus never put up with unholy trespassers, but we rub shoulders with all sorts of people.
There is a kind of faith that refuses to back down; this kind of faith is allowed in the scripture.
There is nowhere in the scripture where we are told to be door mats and allow men to trample upon us.
There is nowhere in the scripture where we are told to tolerated powers of darkness.
When we get on our knees, we overcome.
A heavily pregnant woman was walking about to cross a railway line, she bumped into a Sango worshipper by mistake. This Sango worshipper was in company of his fellows. The woman apologised however, the Sango worshipper rejected the apology, insisted that she must beg. Vengefully, the Sango worshippers summoned fire from his mouth, Lagosians gathered around asking the woman to beg. She vehemently refused, instead told the Sango worshippers since you cannot accept my apology, I quench that fire in your mouth by the fire in the blood of Jesus. Immediately, the fire went off, and the Sango worshippers started hailing her.
Other examples of primitive faith:
1. David standing up to Goliath.
2. Elijah challenging the prophets of Baal.
The enemy might win a few battles; however, as Christians we should strive to win the war.
We keep challenging by the power in the blood of Jesus.
We should share in God's anger against the evil ones.
Sudden death, sudden glory. Keep fighting for Christ.
We serve a warrior God, we cannot pray once or twice and let go after few days.
We need holy desperation; we need bold, non-compromising faith.
Those who risked their reputation to be with Christ, end u winning.
Faith that does not get its hands dirty.
Primitive faith removes mountains.
Faith Killers
1. Entertaining thoughts of failure.
2. Meditating on the magnitude of the problem. Focusing on Goliath instead of God.
3. Focusing on the difficulty instead of the solution.
4. Bowing down to discouragement.
5. Forgetting God's benefit.
6. Listening to the symptoms.
7. Trying to see before you believe instead of believing before seeing.
8. Trying other solutions after prayer.
9. Referencing to other failures.
10. Referencing to failure of others.
11. Listening of the siren of the problem while abandoning God's work.
12. Giving up.
13. Thoughts of suicide.
14. Giving to worry and anxiety.
15. Listening to the conversations of unbelief.
16. Reading more and more about your problems.
17. Negative confessions.
18. Moving by sight.
19. Living in any known sin.
20. Giving in to fear.
Personal Questions
1. Am I a representative of Heaven?
2. Are there people looking at me?
3. Am I at the level of power that God wants me to be?
4. Does Heaven respect my words, does hellfire respect my words?
Prayers
1. Where is Lord God of Elijah? Arise! Make me your battle axe, in Jesus' name. Amen.
2. I move from glory to glory, from strength to strength, from favour to favour, by power in the blood Jesus, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
3. Powers speaking demotion into my life die! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
4. Powers using my glory to shine, you are liar! Die! In the name of Jesus. Amen.
5. Power to terrify my enemies; I am available, fall upon me now! In the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Differences Between Entrepreneurship And Self-Employment

I got intrigued by this powerful article 'Difference between Entrepreneurship and Self-employment; by Adeyemi Olumide. Enjoy!

The differences between ENTREPRENEURSHIP and SELF-EMPLOYMENT
A lot of times we do hear or read about the benefits of being self employed/entrepreneur. In fact, this seems to be the best concept to wealth. But not for once have I ever knew that there is a difference between self-employment and entrepreneurship not until I started reading business articles and books, listening to great business consultants - the likes of Fela Durotoye, Kunle Soriyan, Brain Tracey (these are my most favorites and role model) and so on. Then I sat down thinking every night, am I an entrepreneur or self-employed?

Freedom from Depression

Men and brethren, depression will lie every day to you, and one of its best lies is that you cannot do anything to help yourself. And yes, you may have a past filled with rejection, shame and possibly abuse but obedience to Gods word will always point the way toward freedom. So, when you are frustrated, disappointed and feel the whole world has deserted you, go back to God who gave you the first dream.

Capital Thinking

Men and brethren, until your mind is renewed you cannot be ushered into the realm of overcomers. (Romans 12:2). What you need to make the love in your family to be heaven on earth is capital of thinking of how to make it happen. I see people looking for Prophets that will see limitations and who is after them; you will only create more trouble for yourself by doing that. Capital (money) is not the first thing you need, what you need in life is Capital thinking. “For as he thinks within himself, so he is” Proverbs 23:7

Christian Inspiration: Fire Up Your Creativity

This article belongs to Dr. C. I. and I have his permission to reproduce it here on this blog. More inspiring articles by Dr C. I. can be found on The Comfort Zone.

Fire Up Your Creativity

Matthew 25:13-30, Gen 6:8, Matt 3:8, James 2:18

Men and brethren, there is no creation without the act of creativity. No man can rise above the level of his imagination to be a creator. When you imagine what you desire, you will possess what you imagine. Therefore, the ability of making the simple awesomely simple is creativity. You are fired up in creativity when you become a doer of your creative thinking. In the Parable of the talent in Matthew 25:13-30, talent is the element of money. It is indeed unfortunate that the term “talent” means something very different today from what our Lord meant when He told this parable. The talent was the largest measurement of money in those days. Since a talent was actually a measurement of weight, it did not have a constant value. A talent of gold, for example, would be worth a whole lot more than a talent of bronze. While commentators differ somewhat over the approximate value of a talent in today’s economy, all would agree that it was a large amount of money. Some say that it was the equivalent to 20 years’ wages for a common labourer. We must remember, then, that a talent is a measure of money; it is not a reference to abilities. The talents were distributed on the basis of ability, not as the bestowing of ability. “And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey” Matthew 25:15

Christian Inspiration: Habit of Champions

This article belongs to Dr. C. I. and I have his permission to reproduce it here on this blog. More inspiring articles by Dr C. I. can be found on The Comfort Zone.

The Habits of Champions

Ephesians 5:15, 16, Genesis 41:25-57, Exodus 19:10, 2 Thess 3:10, Matthew 26:41

Men and brethren, life is made in a way that no man succeeds by mere wishing. God has deposited to everyone unique gifts and talents. And permit me to say that what you love is what you’re gifted at. Therefore, whenever you fail, never stop in your pursuit for wellness and well-being. For as long as you have faith, you’ll grow and be living and loving with more wisdom and favour from the awesomely awesome God. Life is made in a way that to be completely happy, to live a completely fulfilled life, you have to love God and do what you love. Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life to carry out a concrete assignment which demands fulfilment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone’s task is as unique as his specific opportunity to implement it. Success, happiness, peace of mind and fulfilment, the most priceless of human treasures are available to all among us, without exception, who make things happen. Who make good things happen in the world around them? Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfilment. The scripture also confirms and affirms the importance of work. “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Therefore, today’s devotion will concentrate on areas of self-development and self-fulfilment and how you can display habits of champions.

Christian Analysis: The Shepherd Psalm - Psalm 23

The Christian article was originally posted by Mavisguy212 of Nairaland. It gives an awesome analysis of Psalm 23. Read, enjoy and be enlightened.

The Shepherd Psalm - Psalm 23

Psalm 23 has six verses. It is especially appreciated by unsaved church people who like to think the Lord is their Shepherd when He's not. Unfortunately, some of the better known portions of Scripture are the portions that deal with anything except salvation. Perhaps the most well known verses of Scripture--or portions--are the Sermon on the Mount, I Corinthians 13, the Ten Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and Psalm 23. Now, the reason why these are favorites is because nothing in one of those passages could tell anybody how to be saved. And all those passages assume the man is either an Old Testament saint or a New Testament saint. So all unsaved people like those portions of Scripture that don't call their sins to their attention.

Christian Analysis: The Fool Say There Is No God - Psalm 14:1

The Christian article was originally posted by Mavisguy212 of Nairaland. It gives an amazing perspective on Psalm 14:1. Read, enjoy and be enlightened.

The Fool Say There Is No God - Psalm 14:1

Christians often cite Psalm 14:1 as a rebuke of atheists. However, the Hebrew word translated "fool" doesn't have the same connotations as the English word. The passage actually says that we are all foolish.

Psalm 14:1 is the verse that a lot of Christians like to quote to atheists, believing it is a rebuke of their atheism. However, if we look at the entire passage, we see a different picture.
