Arsenal Wins the Community Shield

The start of the English Football League season commenced with the Community Shield match between Arsenal the FA Cup Champions and Chelsea the League Champions. Arsenal claimed the title with a magnificent strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
This victory will always be recalled as the first victory by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over his archrival Jose Mourinho the Chelsea manager in 14 games; we hope this beginning of the reign of Wenger over Mourinho.

Other highlights of the encounter involved the lack of sportsmanship between both managers at the end of the game. Jose Mourinho, came out to congratulate the Arsenal team, giving all the Arsenal players a good handshake and great hug to Chelsea former goalkeeper Petr Cech; however, both Mourinho and Wenger inevitably avoided any form of bodily contact. It will be recalled that the two men have a long and acrimonious history of public sniping, with Mourinho infamously labelling Wenger a "voyeur" and specialist in failure" across his two spells at Chelsea and the Arsenal boss pushing his rival on the touchline during a Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge last season.

Nigeria Qualifies for U-23 CAF Championship

Nigeriau23 team the Dream Team VI played out a goalless draw against the Red Devils of Congo today at Pointe Noire; having had a two goals to one lead over the Congolese, Nigeria qualified for the U23 CAF Championship in Senegal which will determine the representatives of Africa in the Rio de Janerio 2016 Olympics.

Dream Team VI coached by Samson Siasia played the game with great tactfulness, they held their ground in Pointe Noire against the Junior Red Devils who needed only a goal to sail through.
Nigeria now joins Algeria, Egypt, South Africa, Tunisia and Zambia had already qualified for the U23 CAF Championship alongside the Senegal. The winner between Mali and Gabon will be the last entrant for the tournament.

Christian Inspiration: Habit of Champions

This article belongs to Dr. C. I. and I have his permission to reproduce it here on this blog. More inspiring articles by Dr C. I. can be found on The Comfort Zone.

The Habits of Champions

Ephesians 5:15, 16, Genesis 41:25-57, Exodus 19:10, 2 Thess 3:10, Matthew 26:41

Men and brethren, life is made in a way that no man succeeds by mere wishing. God has deposited to everyone unique gifts and talents. And permit me to say that what you love is what you’re gifted at. Therefore, whenever you fail, never stop in your pursuit for wellness and well-being. For as long as you have faith, you’ll grow and be living and loving with more wisdom and favour from the awesomely awesome God. Life is made in a way that to be completely happy, to live a completely fulfilled life, you have to love God and do what you love. Everyone has his own specific vocation or mission in life to carry out a concrete assignment which demands fulfilment. Therein he cannot be replaced, nor can his life be repeated. Thus, everyone’s task is as unique as his specific opportunity to implement it. Success, happiness, peace of mind and fulfilment, the most priceless of human treasures are available to all among us, without exception, who make things happen. Who make good things happen in the world around them? Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life’s deepest joy: true fulfilment. The scripture also confirms and affirms the importance of work. “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Therefore, today’s devotion will concentrate on areas of self-development and self-fulfilment and how you can display habits of champions.
