Title: Keys to 2018.
-
Ministering:
Pastor Olaitan Owolabi
First
Reading
Isaiah
43
Second
Reading
1
Samuel 30: 2 - 5, 8, 18
Philippians
3:13-14
Brethren,
I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do], forgetting
those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are
before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in
Christ Jesus. (KJV)
Isaiah
43:18-19
Remember
ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do
a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make
a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert. (KJV)
The future
of everyman is in the hand of the Lord.
2017 is
gone with all its pains, challenges, economic instability; all are gone and
will never come back.
Thou
shall not remember the former things, therefore forget 2017. Paul chose to
forget past, so receive the grace to forget 2017 and press forward in 2018.
Every
prophecy that is void of mercy is not from God.
Instructions
for the New Year
1. Take
the leadership of God. Let God lead, do not rely your strength, connection etc.
Proverbs
3:5
Trust
in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (KJV)
When
God lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Egyptians could never catch up.
2. Lead
by example. Be a good follower of Christ.
1
Corinthians 11:1
Be ye
followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ. (KJV)
Live a
life that will exemplify your faith.
3.
Renew your mind. Begin to think like God. Renew your mind with the word of God
and positive things. Study the word deeply, Update yourself and connect
yourself to socket of divine positivity.
4. Be
different. Make yourself different, make up your mind to become an orphan.
Exempt yourself from popular opinion. Go extra mile on your job; come up with
unusual concepts in everything you do.
5. Make
a commitment to broaden your life, to grow this year. Go out of your comfort
zone, reason like God.
6. Say
NO to worry this year. Worry is a parasite, it destroys faith.
7.
Choose to live holy this year. The best foundation we can lay for lives and future
is the foundation holiness. If you want to fight your enemy, you need holiness.
Holiness gives us confidence to confront every foe.
8. Let
go of the past. Forgive and forget your fellow men. Let go like Paul did in
Philippians 3:13-14.
9. Stay
in alignment with your assignment this year. The shortest route to success is
FOCUS. To succeed this year we need focus. Focus is the ability to pursue a
particular goal; refuse to be distracted.
10.
Decide never to give up. Quitters never win; winners never quit. Because it
failed to work last year, does not mean it will not work this year. Never give
up on God.
11.
Develop attitude of gratitude.
12. Be
a blessing to someone this year. Do not be a tree without fruit this year.
Jesus cursed a fig tree that failed to bear fruit. Give to the less privileged.
God blesses us so that we can be a distributor of blessings. Bless your
superiors and subordinates.
13.
Avoid the life style of aimlessness. This year, I want to study the bible from
Genesis to Revelation. This year, this is what I want to achieve. Set
achievable goals.
14.
Separate your destiny from every Lot this year. As long as Lot was with
Abraham, Abraham did not make progress. Separate yourself from people that live
mediocre life.
15.
Determine to break new ground this year. Take up new challenges, coming out of
the comfort zone, seek for better ways to do that which you have being doing.
16.
Discover the potentials in you. Market your potential. Do not be shy, go out
there and market yourself. If Joseph failed to show his potential in the
prison, he could not have become a minister.
17.
Have faith in God.
18. Be
a Prayer and Word of God and Kingdom Service addict this year.
19. Be
generous. You need to be generous to God. Be generous to others. Do not give
under compulsion.
20.
Make God your source this year. If God is your source, no man can topple you.
Men have limit in giving help, but God is limitless.
May you
being this year with the Fire of God in the name of Jesus. Amen.
