Release Your Eagle’s Wings

Psalm 91:1-10, Psalm 121:1, Revelation 12:14, Isaiah 40:30-31, Luke 21: 25-26, Psalm 73:26,

Men and Brethren, you can make this season, the season where human limitations will be challenged by releasing your Eagle’s wings. The reason is that when we become born again Christians we should have a tremendous hunger for the word of God, the way eaglets have tremendous hunger and constantly cry for food. The scripture says “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Psalm 91:1-10. In today’s devotion, I will take you into scriptural understanding of the Eagle nest to inspire you to a place of pre-eminence and why you must release your Eagle’s wings and soar.

Number One: You cannot dwell in the presence of God and not be a High Flyer. Eagles operates with an altitude of 10,000 feet above ground, but there landing on ground can be unpredictable. At 10, 000 feet, you will never find another bird. If you find another bird, it has to be an eagle. An eagle doesn’t mingle around with the pigeons and chickens. Pigeons and chickens scavenge on the ground and grumble and complain all day long. Eagles do not. They fly and make less noise waiting for opportunities to strike their next prey or glide with the current of the storm. The Psalmist confirms and affirms the power of the hill when he said ‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. Psalm 121:1. A high flier is a man who loves challenges and a man who loves responsibilities. The beauty of life’s responsibilities is that it is the bedrock of great achievement. A high flyer is a problem solver; he loves to take challenges as the eagle does even in the midst of storm. Revelation 12:14. I declare, the days of chicken mentality is over for you and your family.

Number Two: The Eagles Nest teaches us to be Tenacious. Men and brethren, when you can’t track God you must trust Him. “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust” The Psalmist knows with assurance that he may not know anything about the future but he knows that the Boss at the top knows the direction. Trusting God is to doubt your doubts, refusing to listen to the voice that combines confusion. Eagles are the only bird who loves to dance in the midst of the storm. Isaiah 40:30-31, Luke 21: 25-26, Psalm 73:26. When other birds fly away from the storm with fear, an eagle spreads its mighty wings and uses the current to soar to greater heights. The eagle takes advantage of the very storm that lesser birds fear and head for cover. Eagles are believers who believe that what happen to them is not what matters but what happened in them because of what happened to them. For “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence” Psalm 91:3. It does not matter how long your situation had lasted, it is never going to be everlasting because change is coming. Any road without obstacle surely will lead you nowhere.

Number Three: The Eagles Nest is a place to believe. “His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Great faith is the product of great fight and faith does not deny fact; it changes it. The eagle knows the storm is there, he knows there are enemies who are out to kill him John 10:10. Eagles are full of life but when the eagles reach the age of 30, their physical body condition deteriorates fast making it difficult for them to survive but they never give up living. You must not die without living first. The Eagle retreats to a mountaintop and over a five month period goes through a metamorphosis. Someone out there is going through life metamorphosis Job 23: 10. The Eagle knocks off its own beak by banging it against a rock, plucks out its talons and then feathers. Each stage produces a regrowth of the removed body parts, allowing the eagle to live for another 30 – 40 years. You may have added water to your boat, you may have messed up trying to be somebody, You may have fallen again and again; you need to believe that he that has called you is just to forgive you. You have a second chance. Just tell God, I can no longer do it alone, my skills, my tricks have backfired. Help me to just believe.

Number Four: The Eagles Nest teaches us to be fearless. “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day” Boy oh boy, an Eagle will never surrender to the size or strength of its prey. It will always give a fight to win its prey or regain its territory. No matter what the size of that person or what weapon is against you. Eagles are believers who know the mathematics of confronting their confrontations, face your problems heard-on because there is a promotion in the shell of the problem. Have you been in a place where suddenly you gain boldness to stand against your oppressor? That is what I am talking about. It wouldn’t even dawn on you to be afraid because your instinct is to protect that which you love and cherish. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled” 2 Corinthians 10: 4-6.

Number Five: The Eagles Nest is a place of Vision. “Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked” Eagles are the only creatures that can look directly into the sun. Most of us go to church and get distracted, most of us have abandoned our visions for excellence because we allow and permit distractions. If the enemy can distract you, he can destroy you. The eagle is very attentive while sitting high above the tree or cliff of a mountain. Psalm 46:10, Ruth 3:18, 1 Samuel 12:7.The body of the eagle sits still and the head will be tilted side to side to observed what is happening below, around and above it. The eyes are also keen and focused. Their eyes are specially designed for long distance focus and clarity. They can spot another eagle soaring from 50 miles away. Genesis 13:14, Proverb 29:18, Habakkuk 2:2. A man of great focus shall make history. The vision must be big and focused. The bigger your focus visions the bigger results it shall produce. Have a vision and remain focused like the eagle, no matter what the obstacle may be, you must remain unshakable because he that has promised is faithful 1 Thessalonians 5:24, Hebrew 11:8. Remember that no man can humiliate you without your consent and whatever that can distract you can destroy you. I decree, anyone scheming evil against you, their plans will be thwarted as this is your season to be celebrated and divine protection is part of the package. Get ready for divine protection for you and your family in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Therefore, release your wings and get ready to soar for nothing is permitted under the sun to stop you. Be empowered.

Concluding Prayer for Release Your Eagle’s Wings: Awesomely awesome God, I thank you for this season. It is my month to soar like the Eagle. My month of vision, implementation and with plenty evidence of your goodness. Lord, I will be limited to risk landing if I ever doubted the ability of my wings and scared of my future. Therefore, I agree that I shall be a living example with full life of faith by speaking positively into my mandate as your oracle. Lord, in the past, I have sometimes giving up on my dreams, my commitment, my sight and my love for you because of bitterness of heart and murmuring of my heart and spoken words from my mouth. Forgive me, Lord, for relying on the arm of flesh instead of relying on You- Have mercy oh Lord as I plead the blood of your son, Jesus. Therefore, whatever that has hindered me in the past shall now pass away. My family fortune, business fortune, marriage fortune, ability to excel shall now be restored in Jesus’ powerful name I pray, Amen.
